Commissioner of the Department of Labor, Unemployment Insurance Appeal Board from 1977 advising Commissioners of the Department of Labor on whether or not recipients should receive benefits. Assistant County Attorney assigned to Family Court.

I also represented the County of Rockland on numerous labor law cases and helped to prosecute and advise the County on Weights and Measures as well as advised the Probation Department on legal matters.
County of Rockland from 1977 to 1982
Partner in the firm of Pinkus, Lipton and Brown from 1977 to 1989 handling all criminal and personal injury cases that were received included but not limited to car accidents, slip and fall, trip and fall, assault cases, bar room accidents, automobile cases, construction accident cases, products liability and malpractice cases.
In 1982-1983 up to 1995 was an Assistant Public Defender assigned to the various local and superior courts in the County of Rockland. I was assigned to most local Justice Courts including but not limited to: Ramapo, Haverstraw, Spring Valley, Town of Haverstraw, Village of Haverstraw, Village of West Haverstraw, Town of Stony Point, Village of Wesley Hills, Village of Hillburn, Village of Sloatsburg and was assigned to the Rockland County Criminal Court concerning myriad of felony cases, violation of probation and the like.
In 1990 started my own practice specializing in Personal Injury including but not limited to: Car Accidents, Slip and Trip and Falls, Assault, Bar Room Accidents, Construction Accidents, Products Liability Cases, and a sundry of other personal injury cases. I also handled all different types criminal cases including but not limited to: Traffic Cases, Misdemeanors and Felony’s throughout Rockland County and the various counties adjoining Rockland County and New York City.
In the practice I also worked with Real Estate, Wills and various commercial cases.
From 2001-2003 became Senior Partner in the firm of Kurtzman, Lipton, Matera, Gurock and Scuderi specializing in Personal Injury, Car Accidents, Slip and Trip and Falls, Assault, Bar Room Accidents, Construction Accidents, Products Liability Cases, and a sundry of other personal injury cases and criminal cases. I was the lead litigator in the firm doing those type of cases as well as some commercial cases that needed my expertise.
2003 to present I am handling all criminal and personal injury cases that are received included but not limited to car accidents, slip and fall, trip and fall, assault cases, bar room accidents, automobile cases, construction accident cases, products liability and malpractice cases.
The Firm of Gary L. Lipton, Esq. is a firm who tries to obtain the maximum results of various dispositions of various difference types of cases including but not limited to: Criminal, Personal Injury and Commercial Cases in an expeditious, cost effective and carefully considered manner. Our firm is a boutique practice, which is a small, able advisory firm who listens and evaluates the facts and laws of the case and tries to reasonably assess the legal problems. The process includes but is not limited to: preparing Summons and Complaints, Bills of Particular’s, EBT’s, IME’s to process the case and advise the client accordingly. We try to do the courtroom work in a cost effective and expeditious manner by processing the case whether in court, in arbitration or through mediation. We also try to negotiate and evaluate all cases attempting to obtain the maximum result always considering resolving the peripheral issues such as liens, which would be including but not limited to, workers comp, doctors, hospital, Medicaid, Medicare and the like and try to deal with infant’s compromise and structured settlements in a effective manner.
Our firm is small enough to give our clients the personal and individual care that all clients deserve. We try to give direction to settle and dispose of the cases in careful and caring manner and advise the clients of all of their options.
I have been a guest lecturer for the Rockland County Bar Association in reference to Criminal matters and Personal Injury matters. I have taught various courses in the area of Lien Law in New York State; Preliminary Hearings and Bail Applications in New York State; How to Try and Personal Injury Law Suit in New York State; Courts Examining Witnesses both expert and witnesses in New York State and Arbitrating and Mediating cases in New York State. New York State Defender’s Association 1987 Public Defender’s Institute on how to try cases.
